This 1810 oil painting by Louis-Léopold Boilly depicts a crowd of spectators at the Salon of 1808 at the Louvre in Paris examining Jacques-Louis David's 'The Coronation of Napoleon'. The scene shows viewers using catalogues to identify the various participants in the historical event, which portrays Napoleon's coronation and his first wife Josephine. Today, the painting is housed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, acquired in 2012.
