The Oath of the Horatii is a large painting by the French artist Jacques-Louis David painted in 1784 and 1785. It depicts the Roman legend of the Horatii brothers swearing an oath to defend Rome. The painting is now on display in the Louvre in Paris and is considered one of the most iconic works of the Neoclassical style.
