The Dog is a painting by Francisco de Goya depicting the head of a dog gazing upwards. The dog is almost lost in the vast emptiness of the image, with only a dark sloping area near the bottom concealing its body. The placard at the Museo del Prado suggests the dog is in distress, seemingly drowning.
