This 17th-century oil on canvas painting by Jacob van Ruisdael depicts a panoramic view of the Dam and Damrak in Amsterdam. The scene includes the Oude Kerk, sailboats on the canal, and people in the square, capturing the bustling atmosphere of the city during the Dutch Golden Age. Since 1866, it has been housed in the Museum Boymans van Beuningen in Rotterdam.
