The Continence of Scipio is a c. 1653 painting by Dutch artist Gerbrand van den Eeckhout. It depicts the moment when Scipio Africanus, the Roman general, refuses to take the spoils of war from the captured Carthaginian general Hannibal's camp, demonstrating his virtue and restraint. The painting is now housed in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
